Hi Steve,

We just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. The pictures are SO beautiful! We were so excited to first see the engagement photos, and then, to see the wedding photos.....WOW! You captured every important moment of our wedding, from the rehearsal the night before, to the very start of the big day getting ready, until the last dance of the night. Now we will always have gorgeous pictures to remember the best day of our lives!

You were absolutely wonderful to work with, and I am so happy we choose to work with you.

Everyone has been raving about the pictures on the website.

Hi Steve,

I just wanted to email you and let you know we received our proofs and the prints you made.  Thank you so much for the generous prints...we immediately framed the black'n white 8 by 10 that you wound up making our front page
picture on the website, and we are shopping for a frame for the Sepia one.

 

Also, thank you for the lovely photo box to store our proofs!  I was just expecting a big envelope, what a lovely keepsake surprise!

We are thrilled with the proofs and so grateful that you took so many, the good, the bad and the ugly!  We have given our guests the website information, and my mother is already ecstatic....we will probably begin ordering prints in the coming months.

Thank you making such a big part of our day stress free and for braving the elements with us.  The scenic pics are amazing and we love the close ups too...again thank you for making our photos so memorable!

Well once again Steve you have exceeded our expectations, with the pictures, website, and the 8x10's are absolutely great.

Danielle and I took about an hour to looking at the pictures online. Then when our package arrived you surprised  us with the picture box and pics inside it, spent another 2 hours looking at them.

Christi and Nick's Graphistudio album arrived last Friday when all the family was here for the holiday. How exciting for us to be together again and relive the joy of their wedding as we viewed the awesome images in the huge coffee-table book. Christi and Nick truly enjoyed being here to see it first and then share it with the rest of the family.

The depth of color, crisp details and artistic elements brought together an incredible photo essay of that day. But what brings me to look through the book over and over again is your exceptional ability to capture, not just the events, but the moments when love, happiness, excitement and devotion are written on their faces and shining in their eyes. We received the enlargements and are enjoying looking through them, you did a great job. The album looks wonderful as well. I will get back to you by the end of the week with additional enlargements we want to order (we just can't get enough). I am sure you are ready to get us out of your hair.

 

Also, Jake (Nick's photographer-cousin who was also taking pictures at the wedding) saw the proofs last weekend and was very impressed. On another occasion, my mom and I took some of the pictures into Michael's to get frames and a photographer stopped and asked us who our photographer was. It is unfortunate that we are in California and all this exposure is not equaling more business for you (unless you decide to add our pictures to your website or people decide to go to St. Augustine to get married) but regardless I thought you might like to hear the compliments anyway. It has made me happy to have such a wonderful response from others.

I have gone through the proofs by hand at least 10 times since receiving them yesterday, and have spent as much time online.  I am elated with the results and can't wait to hear what my family and friends have to say.  You are truly amazing and I will gladly recommend you to everyone we know.

I love this book, it is one of the main reasons I chose you to do my  pictures, because I liked how you took pictures.  You captured everything  that was happening, and some of the pictures--even though they might have  seemed silly to take, like the floatie on the champagne glass and the shoes  on the floor--are the one's that make me smile.  I am so glad that you took  my pictures. It was the most important thing to me when planning my wedding,  because I wanted these pictures to tell the story of what happened. 

You did  that better than I could have ever imagined.

In July of 2003, I was lucky enough to have married a wonderful woman.  Prior to that day, we were lucky enough to have found Steve Holmes/SouthWind Photography.  I’ve been in a dozen weddings, and what really stands out about Steve is what he captures.  Steve’s style of photography when compared with that of others is like reading a story versus a textbook chapter about the same event.  Both contain the same events, but the story puts you in the moment.  He doesn’t rely on meticulously posed pictures capturing you as you never are.  Instead, you wind up with a collection of pictures that show your day as it really was—with friends and family looking comfortable and natural.

Steve is easy to work with, too.  While efficient, he’s also accommodating.  We took a lot of pictures in a number of locations and though we were moving around and had plenty on our minds, I never felt like he was rushing us. 

As I write this, it is the end of September.  Since the wedding, we received proofs in a reasonable period, and Steve put up a website which has been tremendous for sharing pictures with loved ones around the country.  He has continued, long after “the sale” to be very reasonable and helpful.  Thanks, Steve!
